directly from the audience, so be ready to be curious.

Location: King’s Landing
Panel: Susan Arendt (Managing Editor at The Escapist), Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, Bob “MovieBob” Chipman (Escape to the Movies), Chris Pranger (No Right Answer), Graham Stark (Director & Producer at LoadingReadyRun)
Description:
Every year, it seems like there’s more and more sequels out there.
We’re told that merely putting a “2” at the end of a game’s title
increases the chance for monetary success, but the cost is a shortage of
original concepts, settings and ideas. Yahtzee, Movie Bob, Chris
Pranger and Graham Stark headline this all-star panel discussing the
preponderance of sequels and their influence on movies, games and
culture. That's your lot, so make notes in your diaries, attendees. I'm quite looking forward to all this, the topics sound like I can get a decent gush on, and that second one in particular should be quite the spectacle, I think. Mighty good fun this convention season lark, right readers?

All of that sounds awesome! I've even more saddened that I can't afford to go. Have a safe trip & good luck with the mobs of fans!
ReplyDeleteThose will be literally thee most depressing days of my year. I'll have to hold onto my copy of Mogworld and my sincere thanks for a future convention. I was going to ask him to sign a piece of clear scotch tape so I could stick it on my future copy of Jam and be the first kid on the block to have both the Yahtzee novels signed :)
ReplyDeleteWell encase you're reading this Yahtzee, thanks for everything, I know what I want to do with my life. I want to write novels and short stories, discuss this industry on the internet, and design and write video games. Thee most fulfilling challenge I've experienced, thanks for it all.
This shit better be recorded and put up on the site.
ReplyDeleteGrrrd! I wanna go there! F-ing America, being the center of the world and everything... Why don't you come to Britain, damn you!
ReplyDeleteHour of Love sounds brilliant, I hope some of that will be recorded at least ~
ReplyDeleteGlad to finally see an update! I'll be there, but unfortunately I won't be able to make it to any of your panels as I'll be running my table. . .so can you, like, come by and sign my copy of Mogworld for me? That would be awesome. Thanks.
ReplyDeletei hope the escapist is planning on recording this and posting at least a highlight reel.
ReplyDeletemaybe yahzee should put a gopro in his trilbee... actually sod the expo lets have a 24/7 live stream, it'll be like 'being john malcovich' xD
I do hope this is recorded in a video or podcast, i just know i really want to know what will they say.
ReplyDeleteWhy did you list it by alphabetical title rather than date? MY ENTIRE YAHTZEE TIMELINE HAS BEEN THROWN INTO DISARRAY
ReplyDeleteWhy am I getting the sinking feeling that someone's gonna go to the second panel just to ask what he thought about kane and lynch dog days 2?
ReplyDeleteI think his head might burst into flames or something of the like which would suck (I really hope that doesn't happen)
Also wish I could make it but I'm broke, starting school and I have to go to a funeral next week, joy.
oh. btw..... i was waiting to see if you'd review The Witcher 2, because it looked promising. havent played it yet, but supposed to be quite good and have a bit of longevity to it. was curious to your angle, but havent seen you review it. ill have to double check your reviews and see if i missed it..... but i dont think so. if you havent, i hope you do, because i think youre both hysterical and brilliant.
ReplyDeletei apologise, i just saw that review, have no clue how the hell i missed it. i keep up pretty well on your reviews because you're a bloody scream! but somehow i obviously missed that one.
ReplyDeleteWill there be professional recordings of the panels by any chance? There are a lot of us out there that its simply not possible to get to the Expo. Being in poor and in Ireland as we are.
ReplyDeleteJust saw the hour of love video. Loved the cat ears by the way, reminded me of when you did the kitten webcam for Desert Bus 5
ReplyDeleteWas watching/listening to videos of some of these with my husband and that reason you gave for why you like Silent Hill 2 so much? ..We didn't think you could get any more awesome but finding out you have the same anxiety issues just solidified you as our hero. ♥
ReplyDeleteanyone have a link to the 'return of the sequel 2' video?
