Colossal in every sense

This week's ZP is a retro review because the release schedule is still a bit dried up. Late August is looking a little busy, though, with Mafia 2 and a number of other things. The pre-Christmas period gets here quicker every year, doesn't it. Anyway, enjoy Shadow of the Colossus. I command it.

  1. Awesome video. I saw you had split/second in an earlier video, you didn't like it?

  2. Calling Shadow of the Colossus "amazing" is like saying "The Beatles are great" or "God doesn't care about us." I kind of see it as being more factual than opinion.

All in All, it's neat that someone is still talking about this awesome game, maybe now it will sell out all the extra copies that no one bought.

I see Killer 7 up there, when are you going to critique it?

Well, he did give it a shout out back in his No More Heroes review...

And yes, I will probably now have to find someone with a copy of SotC still in stock.

  5. Perhaps he should just have a compalation of old games that he reviews extra quick. Personaly, I put up the X-com series as something that could be done. Lot of old games, cheep and on steam, big part of gameing history, and on par with the tech of his games to boot. (that and you did mention it once, a long time ago, at the end of one of your reviews.)

  7. Always a fan of the retro reviews, and this one might finally get me to purchase a PS2.

No words about "The Last Guardian," or just nothing new to say about it since 2009's E3?

  9. Please Yahtzee, keep talking about Shadow of the Colossus in the next Extra Punctuation! I.e. narrative, moral and soundtrack.

There wasn't any news about The Last Guardian at 2010 E3, major bummer for a lot of people.

SotC really was an amazing game, and is unlike anything else I've played. The atmosphere was incredible, and it it has the most believable use of platforming I've seen.

  11. Scared shitless 2nd favourite game would be ruined (like you did to my first favourite) but now I'm more proud of it than ever.

  12. Yahtzee you have officialy now reviewed my two favorite games now (I.E. Silent Hill 2 and Shadow of the Colossus.) Thank you! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that still plays these games let alone Ps2 games in general. Personally though I have to ask despite the fact that its a JRPG have you ever played Chrono Trigger on the PS1. I was hoping to hear you're opinion on it.

  14. You are specifically to thank for introducing me to Silent Hill 2, Shadow of the Colossus, and Prince of Persia. You are a wonderful person for this.

To Z?, he said in an extra punctuation that'd he'd played and enjoyed Chrono Trigger, but hadn't finished it do to tediously long boss battles (no clue as to which ones he meant). And the Playstation version is by far the worst.
